And as we end the “Will this guy manage the Mets” series, I have for you the reveal. Tim Teufel will be the next manager of the New York Mets. (I appreciate all of you recirculating this article in 2018 when I turn(ed) out to be wrong. Thanks for the page views.)
Tim has managed all over the Mets’ system, and is currently roving the minors. He was a 1986 Met, and one of the few 86 Mets without any colorful newspaper articles about him.
He will be 60 when he takes over the Mets next year, which is a little on the old side for the modern game, but this is the Mets so it’s not like they don’t like “old” managers.
The Mets are going to need a loyal son to helming be part of the marketing distraction of the 2018 rebuild. Tim won a ring in Queens and not many can say that.
Ladies and Gentlemen, the manager of the 2018 Mets….Tim Teufel!
