Jay leaves as hopefully a Met who was appreciated in the end even if it took the average Mets fan until about three weeks ago to realize how good he was. He was also one of the few humans who can actually hit at Citi Field, the others being Cespedes and Chase Utley. And I’m not sure about Cespedes.
SLACKISH REACTION: I have no idea what happened in the game other than the Mets lost. What I worry about now is the schedule. The Mets (2-6 in Garbage Time under lame duck manager Terry Collins) play the god awful Phillies, which means the Mets will win 3 out of 4 and the false narrative that The Guys Are Still Playing Hard For Terry Collins will come back, and some of you will start fantasizing about Wild Cards. It’s over. Been over since May.
