I’m just speaking for me. Not the 650 true Mets fans or the other millions of fans who probably think they are Mets fans. Just me.
I’m a true Mets fan Lucas.
I may not have a cool custom jersey. I might not have the money nor time to fly to Seattle. I might not even like sitting in the outfield.
But please include me in the true Mets fans.

When everyone else was on the Ike train, I wondered why we wouldn’t consider you since you had that great August and September mopping up for him.
When there was the article about how fans supposedly HATED you, I stuck up for you.
I’v rewatched in 1977, 1986 and the 2009-Augst 2015 years when you played and most of the fanbase took summers off.
So I’m a true fan.
I know you didn’t mean any harm and you just wanted to thank some of the loudest in the dress-alike crowd.
But I’m a true fan. A real fan. And there are more of us out there. It’s not just about t-shirt outings.
