Is Jesse Orosco the best Mets player of the 1980s? Maybe.
Now I know you guys will shout out the usual suspects but Jesse was here until 1987 (I would have guessed longer. Why the hell did we get rid of him?) and for the decade is 1st in GP, 4th in wins (from the bullpen, think about it), 4th in strikeouts, 1st in ERA and of course first in saves.
Unlike many closers since, you never worried about him (cough John Franco cough). Jesse would get it done.
