According to Multiple Reports, Mets Police has learned that the Syracuse Chiefs will rebrand as the Syracuse Mets. The source here is Gov. Andrew Cuomo – but check out this update where I think maybe perhaps Cuomo misspoke.
Of course this is stunning as the trend in MiLB is to have a name like Pizza Rats or Chocolate Elves or Forest Fairies, so that they went with Mets as opposed to Rumple Ponies is fascinating.
