SLACKISH REACTION: Before I gave up going to games I had given up going to Subway Series games. The Subway Series brings out the worst of both fanbases. Everything you hate about Yankees fans, and everything you hate about the wires Mets fans will be represented at Citi Field tonight. The games take us away from GKR. We get Fox and ESPN and late starts and announcers telling the rest of the country stuff we already know. Management overreacts instead of treating it like just another game. No good comes from the Subway Series.
Then I read the Mets might actually consider trading Thor or JDG. I am telling you that will bring a 1977 reaction to the fanbase. What could they get back, a stating 2B, starting OF, a ready to go rotation piece and a prospect? Do not do this. This is not going to go the way you think Sandy.
At least Sandy has a contract and will make $8 million total.
