Holy cow, this is absolutely stunning news. Jay Bruce is injured. I mean, this is shocking. Who knew about this? Did you know? Jay seemed to be playing great and moving around well all season long so to find out that he needs time on the DL just floors me.

FLUSHING, N.Y., June 19, 2018 – The New York Mets today announced that the club has placed outfielder Jay Bruce on the 10-Day Disabled List, retroactive to June 18, with a sore right hip and recalled RHP Tim Peterson from Las Vegas (AAA) of the Pacific Coast League. Peterson will wear #63 and will be available for tonight’s game in Colorado.
Peterson, 27, has posted a 2.08 ERA (one earned run/4.1 innings) in three games with the Mets. He made his major league debut on May 30 at Atlanta. The 6-1, 215-pounder was with New York from May 30-June 14.
He was 0-1 with seven saves and a 3.64 ERA (12 earned runs/29.2 innings) in 24 games with Las Vegas (AAA) of the Pacific Coast League.
