This is a very intriguing story, one that I will try to further investigate when I poke around the ballpark tomorrow.
Brief history lesson, the Mets (and a lot of teams) used to have a bullpen cart back in the golden cart days of the 60’s and 70’s. The cart(s) popped up here and there in commercials, photographs and most recently in a Sotheby’s auction, where it sold for tens of thousands of dollars.
Earlier this year, the D-Backs brought the bullpen cart back, and Shannon made the case for the Mets to bring their own version of the cart back.
Well, the next chapter of the bullpen cart saga developed today, as Kevin found a bullpen cart tucked away in the parking lot at Citi.

I don’t know Kevin, but this picture looks legitimate, and I believe I know where this picture was taken.
If the Mets actually do have one on the premises, then I would assume that yes, they are planning on bringing it back. It wouldn’t make sense to buy and paint something and then leave it in the lot all season.
That being said, if they are going to bring it back, it looks like the forgot to paint the squatchee orange.
