SLACKISH REACTION: I turned the game off at 3-2. I just didn’t care.
I mentioned on Saturday morning that I was thinking of taking my Saturday Nights back. I did this last season. Much like my 10pm rule, I decided I would not watch the Mets on Saturday Night. I would use that time for video games, or movies, or maybe even doing something with friends. I am not against baseball playing on the weekend, but as I only have some much time, I decided not to use it on the Mets.
Last night, I put the game on. I somehow fell asleep in the pre-game (I am not doing schtick, I fell asleep in The Comfy Chair…
…and when I woke up it was 1-0 Dodgers as the bottom of the 1st was starting.
I hung around, twitter was slow, and at some point around 8:05pm when the score was 3-2 I realized I wasn’t having fun. The game was a slog. Fox isn’t as much fun as GKR and playing Sterling or Scully. I couldn’t wait for the game to end, so I turned it off.
I watched Succession (which I really like) and an episode of Westworld and then popped the game on to see The Virus batting in the 9th of an 8-3 game. Smoltz was radically realigning the league and then it was over. I didn’t care.
I’m not saying you shouldn’t care, I’m just saying I realize I need to take ack my Saturday nights.
Vargas is on the DL and will not start today! Today’s pitcher is Whoever Is Around, which is what a reeling team that’s 11.5 back needs as Sandy chooses to admit or not that he’s obviously rebuilding.
@NikoMetsPlus is going to mind the Mets Police store while I do some other things for a few days. I left a whole bunch of generic posts that I have been working on for months, and Niko will fill in with the topical stuff. Hopefully I come back to find out there is a new manager. Keep it together until I get back Niko. LGM
