Mets Police Morning Laziness: The Opener! (For me, and for Blevins…)

Well, I’m still here, so it looks like I didn’t blow it too bad on those first two posts last night. If you’re just joining us, I’ll be filling in for Shannon this week, and to do that, you would think that I watched yesterday’s game intensely, looking for things to discuss on my Morning Laziness debut.

SLACKISH REACTION: Unfortunately, though, I was at work, so I didn’t watch most of the game (slackish, right?) Though the Mets did give us something to talk about with “the opener”. With Vargas down due to injury, the Mets used their lefty specialist Jerry Blevins to start the game. Bizarro Mets.

Other than that, it was another long and frustrating Mets loss, which ended with Callaway admitting that the Mets are struggling to “sync up” after dropping 18 of their last 22 games.

In the booth, Keith appeared after his book signing concluded, he didn’t say much, but it pleased the audience on Twitter.

This might be an unpopular opinion, but I still believe we are getting a little too much Keith. Everyday is another book signing, another SNY mini-series video, and of course half a dozen live streams. Keith is great, but there is such a thing as too much of something good, and Keith is starting to cross that.

There was also a great catch by Dave from California, who noticed that Dom Smith wasn’t wearing a uniform with the Rusty Staub commemorative patch. There’s a 99% chance he’s wearing one of last year’s tops, but it still takes a good eye to notice that.

Darren from The 7.. er.. sorry… T-Shirt Guy has some cool retro wool caps.

Admittedly I’m not a Star Wars fan, but if I was, I’d watch Part Two of this podcast.
