After every Mets game I attend, I get an email thanking me for my visit to the ballpark, with a link to a survey that works to “enhance the gameday experience”.
Now, I’ve taken a lot of Mets surveys. They range from ultra-concise and thorough, to quick and vague.
This years’ survey is somewhere in the middle of that wide range. You start with some basic “how many games have you attended/will you attend,” followed by questions that continue to be rather personal, and have nothing to do with one’s gameday ballpark experience:
Who did you attend this particular Mets game with?
Did you use your ticket(s) for personal or business purposes?
What are the 3 main factors that influenced your decision to purchase tickets to this particular game?
What mode of transportation did you use to travel to Citi Field for this particular game?
After this is complete, we finally get into the questions that interest me. They start right at the gate, asking you about your entry experience:
I’ve never had an issue with ballpark entry, so I gave nothing but high marks on this one, but I did add in the “anything else to share” section last year that the turnstiles, while nice, slowed down the process, and they disappeared last homestand, so maybe the Mets are listening to the feedback after all.
The next batch of questions is about Aramark’s concessions:
In the Opening Homestand, the concession lines were a major issue, but Keith Blacknick (@mediagoon) found out that there was a staff shortage, and lines have been considerably better since.
Of all the questions, though, I absolutely love the very last one, which asks you directly if you think the Mets are improving or regressing:
With Reyes leading off and Mickey Hodges at the helm? The right direction, of course.
