Must Read: Times on the Broken Mets

Hey it’s me!  @NikoMetsPlus is doing an Amazin’ job really outstanding job covering.  If I didn’t know better I would think I were writing the articles.  He’s really nailed The Voice.  And I deleted the Amazin part because I don’t want to compare him to anything happening in Queens.

As I detox from the Mets I don’t miss them at all.  I get up while you’re all asleep and check the score and see what Niko posted and I go about my Mets free life.  I have thought a little about Sandy Alderson the man and I hope he is OK.  On the GM front I don’t care who is running the team or not because I don’t miss it.   I know you guys think I am a cartoon character googling Matt Harvey all day (sometimes true when I am bored) but this week….doing other stuff.

Which brings us to this Must Read.  I can’t keep track of time and it looks like this came out Tuesday at some point and it’s now Thursday in some places, so maybe you all read this and discussed it, but it’s a really good article that I think captures the zeitgeist of the 2018 Mets and more importantly the 2018 Mets fan.

I’ll use the Jeff wilpon takedown to suck you in, but stay for the part about fans leaving games not caring.

The team’s crown prince, Jeff Wilpon, who shies from reporters as a horse from an electrified fence, showed up at Alderson’s news conference on Tuesday. Often reading off a written statement, looking ill at ease, he offered a reckoning with his broken-down jalopy of a team.

You’ll find that fine article in the New York Times.

As for me I’m flipping the controls back to Niko and heading back into a cave.  And this time, that’s not a figure of speech.
