Sure looks like Jacob deGrom will be the lone Mets All Star

Here’s the latest Top Votes..

Hopefully you can read that…but let me summarize if you can’t.  There ain’t a Met anywhere.

So you run baseball.  Or you are someone involved in putting together an All Star Team.  Clearly you are going to take Jacob deGrom.

I know you millennials love Nimmo’s OPS+ or something, but what reason do you have for taking a second Mets player that nobody has heard of.  You don’t. Sorry.  (We could argue about baseball building its starts and that it SHOULD take Nimmo, but it’s not going to happen, plus he isn’t ready to be a star yet).

,264 12 and 25 at the halfway mark.  Thats 24 and 50 over the course of a season.  So no.

Wanna take Cabrera’s .280 14 and 45?  Well if Murph had those numbers I know one blogger who would be lobbying – oh wait thats me – and I guess .28 28 and 90 out of 2B would be pretty snazzy, but I dunno, I’m just not feeling it.

Ablies or Gennett will win the vote and the other will make it.  You can take Javier Baez from the Cubs, and use him as the utility guy anyway.  Baez also has a lot of votes.  So I don’t see any reason for The Sport to take Cabrera.

So Jake it is, unless they trade him this weekend.  Then I guess Cabrera.

Enjoy Jake’s 6th inning around 10:45pm!
