FLORES FLOURISHING: Wilmer Flores has driven in 10 runs in his last 10 games and has 13 RBI in his last 15 games…Flores has hit in career-high 11 straight games, going 13-42 (.310), tied with Asdrúbal Cabrera for the team season-high…Flores has hit in 14 of his last 15 games and reached base safely in a career-best 18 straight games with a plate appearance…Over his last 37 games, Flores is batting .299 (35-117) with 10 doubles, five home runs, 21 RBI, 13 runs scored, 10 walks and a .348 OBP (dating back to May 4).
ROSTER MOVE: The Mets recalled RHP Paul Sewald from Las Vegas (AAA) of the Pacific Coast League and placed LHP Jerry Blevins on the Bereavement List (grandmother)…Sewald will wear #51 and will be available for tonight’s game…He is 0-4 with a 4.85 ERA (21 earned runs/39.0 innings) in 26 games with the Mets this season…Sewald went 3-0 with a 1.80 ERA (one earned run/5.0 innings) in four games with the 51s after he was optioned for the first time on June 22.
FUTURES GAME: First baseman Peter Alonso and shortstop Andres Gimenez will represent the Mets at the Futures Game on Sunday, July 15 at Nationals Park…Alonso, 23, will play for Team USA…He is hitting a combined .287 (82-286) with 15 doubles, 19 homers, 69 RBI and a .421 OBP in 85 games between Binghamton (AA) of the Eastern League and Las Vegas (AAA) of the Pacific Coast League…Gimenez, 19, will play for the World Team…He is batting .269 (72-268) with 17 doubles, three triples, five homers, 26 RBI and a .342 OBP in 75 games with St. Lucie (A) of the Florida State League.
deGROMINATE: Jacob deGrom has allowed one earned run or less in 10 of his last 13 starts…He has allowed one run or less in 56 of his 124 career starts (45 percent).
NOAH SYNDERGAARD: Will start for Brooklyn (A) of the New York-Penn League on Sunday, July 8 at 4 p.m. at MCU Park vs. the SI Yankees…Syndergaard has been on the DL since May 26 with a strained ligament in his right index finger.
T.J. RIVERA: Went 0-4 as the DH last night for St. Lucie (A) of the Florida State League…It was his first minor league rehabilitation game…Rivera underwent Tommy John surgery on September 14 last year.
FIRST PITCH: Hailey Dawson, 8, will throw out tonight’s ceremonial first pitch…Hailey was born with Poland Syndrome, a birth defect that caused her to be born with three missing fingers…She will be wearing a Mets-themed 3D robotic hand… Her goal is to throw out a first pitch for each MLB team…The Mets are her 19th team…Hailey has played one season of baseball so far and is looking forward to playing softball.
