It was Harvey Day in Cincinnati!
Don’t start with the WHO CARES nonsense. I get STATISTICS here at Mets Police and this post will be not only the most popular post today, it will be the most popular post tomorrow. You guys still have a crush on The Real Deal (original nickname you have forgotten about) and we both know it.
How would TDK do? Would he be able to match the Mascot Cuckolder’s 5 innings 1 run?
Lately TDK has gotten off to slow first innings and then settle in. How would things turn out?
The day started on a good night with Matt violating the silly MLB Rule 6.04(b) which precludes players in uniform from engaging with fans. Silly rule MLB, but it is a rule. Rules aside, cute moment.
This could be Matt’s last start as a Red. They plan to go to a 6 man rotation, so he’d pitch next on Saturday if not traded this week.
TDK gave up a lead off double, and then this Home Run.
2-0 Pirates early. Would Matty Baseball melt down the way he would in Queens?
No. TDK settled in and got the third out. This is a typical Reds Era start. Lots of shaky first innings and then he settles in. Let’s see if he does that today….
Uh oh, that’s not good. One thing I have noticed during Reds Time is that matt gives up a lot of very deep fly balls. This one hit the fence and the Pirates had a man on second. Then a single and it was 3-0. Could be a short day for TDK which is fine by me because I want to go do other things.
Then a two run shot that the Reds PBP called with just “Oh my goodness…” (Verdict: Scully). TDK does not have it today.
Holy cow I couldn’t even finish that part of the post and another Pirate hit a bomb…
6 runs 6 hits after 2. Uh oh!
Things would go better for Matt in the third…and around 50 pitches all that’s left here is to eat some innings, and hope some team with a 700 foot OF wants to make a trade.
In the 4th…JESUS MATT, I got up for 20 seconds to close the garage and ANOTHER HOME RUN
And while I typed that another batter got on somehow and….
The Dark Knight Exits. 7 runs, and responsible for the guy on first. But I am going in the pool, I’m not spending any more time blogging.
Final line on Harvey: 3.2 IP, 8 H, 8 R, 8 ER, 2 SO, 4 HR. 59 pitches, 40 strikes
