Matt Harvey pitched Wednesday vs the Brewers. How did he do? You’ll look.

The Dark Knight returned at an inconvenient time as I had plans on Wednesday.   By the time I got home, Matty Baseball was done for the evening having pitched FOUR innings, 11 hits, and five runs all earned.

The game started with a 27 minute or so delay but finally The Real Deal was on the mound and all was OK in the world.

The leadoff batter got a single, and as we know, Matty Baseball does not do well with runners on base.  Then the second guy got a hit too.  And then Travis Shaw did this.

Uh oh!  That’s a double.  Three batters, three hits, and time for a meeting.

And there are runners on 2nd and 3rd and no outs!  TDK got an out on a pop up, then Moustakas knocked in the 2nd run to make it 2-0

Matt got out of it…and I got my favorite capture, the Matt Harvey walks off after an inning look.  Anyway, fortunately for Matt, not too many people were on hand.

Let’s skip ahead to the 5th because it’s 10pm and I have had a few beers and want to go to bed and we know how this ends…

The Brewers got an infield hit back to Matt himself, and TDK looks displeased at the call.  I thought he was out Matt.  One man on.

Shake it off Matt…let’s get the next guy….UH OH

And to the track to the wall that ball is outta here (man what a bad call by me, that ball was massively gone, why am I mentioning the wall at all?)

Matt knows he has done bad.

Then ANOTHER single…and another….uh oh….we better get the bullpen rocking….and then ANOTHER single and Matt was going….

…..going….

…gone.

So another typical Reds-era Harvey outing.  I didn’t tell you he struck out the side in the 4th (he did!).  There are clean innings and disasters.  He cannot pitch through difficulty.  And that makes us all….
