Anyway I hate this team because
a) they are lame and won’t wear the caps.
b) they won’t let David Wright play. Here’s a recap of the bullshit simulated game They are also playing 18 innings today against the Marlins but if Todd Frazier only played 13 we fight stunt his development.
c) Their next big hire is stupid: The 2015 Blue Jays won 93 games. Mark Shapiro, now the Mets target to lead the rebuild then took over the Jays. The 2016 Jays won 89. The 2017 Jays won 76. The 2018 Jays are pacing for 73 wins. Seems like a no-brainer hire. Oh and Terry Collins having an expanded role. With Mickey Hodges coming back.
d) the booth was talking about how the game strategy was based upon getting deGrom innings to help his ERA and maybe get a win – so if they Mets aren’t trying to win and are just trying to help one guy then WHY CAN’T WRIGHT PLAY?
There was Actual News in that Jay Horwitz will be leaving his media relations gig to become head of Alumni Relations. The Mets were coy yesterday and there is a JH presser today at 2, but the news leaked out in about 5 minutes. Maybe the Mets need to get better at their media relations…oh wait.
So my total made up theory based on nothing is that Adam Rubin will succeed Horwitz. Adam has a sort of kind of similarish role with NYIT and hadn’t tweeted in like 15 days until I tagged him on a tweet – shortly thereafter he tweeted about Horwitz. I’m just floating this theory in case I am right.
SLACKISH REACTION: You guys need to get over this fantasy that JDG has a chance at the Cy Young. Scherzer has 17 wins and a 2.31 ERA.
