Or he could stay in the booth, work 110 days, moonlight at SNY and have a nice life and not wind up hated by fans and yet another outcast in the Mets Family when things don’t end well with the Wilpons (or the fans, see Buddy Harrelson’s experience).

While we’re talking Mets GM’s, I like the people who think Oakland has it all figured out. Maybe the Mets should bring in a Moneyball type from Oakland. Maybe an older guy, someone serious. The kind of Marine that would command respect and bring disciple to the circus. That will solve everything.
