Oh that’s nice, a coaltion supports the AirTrain. Let’s learn more…
“The AirTrain will take millions of cars off the road and reduce traffic on our local streets, making it easier for Queens residents to get around, small businesses to make deliveries, and employees and customers to get to work or shop locally,” said Grech. “It’s a proven model that has done wonders for JFK, and we simply can’t wait any longer to move forward on this project.” The current plan is to have the AirTrain connect with the public transportation system at Mets-Willets Point Station…

That’s nice. It’s also nonsense. If you think someone is going to not hop in Uber when they can take the 7 train all the way from Manhattan to Willets Point, transfer and then take a train back to the airport, you are crazy.
The proposed AirTrain LGA would make the dream of a 30-minute ride from Midtown Manhattan to LaGuardia a reality,” Angela Pinsky, Executive Director of the Association for a Better New York, said in a statement.
Yeah? Let’s visit the official MTA schedule.
Let me clock Times Square, a reasonable definition of midtown Manhattan to the Willets Point stop. Let’s see…6:34am…..7:04am to WIllets….that’s 30 minutes…now I transfer and make the rest of the journey in Zero Seconds.
STOP BULLSHITTING US.
So let’s see who is part of this coalition…
Among the groups in the coalition are Association for a Better New York, Delta Air Lines, JetBlue United Airlines, the New York Mets, LaGuardia Gateway Partners, the Queens Chamber of Commerce and New York Building Congress.
Hmmmm, the Association for a Better New York sounds nice. Let’s look at their board….

Related Companies
Ah yes, Related Companies. They sound familiar. I think I recognize them as part of the Willets Point development projects, you know, the ones with all the affordable housing.
Now I remember, the Related Companies and the Wilpons want to build a parking lot on the land they got from the city.
Follow the money folks and just don’t accept press releases at face value. This AirTrain is a bad idea.
