ICYMI I wrote at length about Baseball At The Crossroads this morning. In that I linked to several issues baseball is having right now.
Yesterday evening, I saw that the media actually asked The Commish about start times. I think that’s great, as it means the discussion is starting.
Waiting around for Game 2 to start and preparing for a lonnnng night ahead? Rob Manfred talked to a few writers and was asked about the start times: pic.twitter.com/1U5AwXB9rP

Commenting on the Commissioner’s comments….
Used to play 8:39 starts.…yes, it is better….but not better enough
“East Coast Bias” – well Commish…yes….
As for starting the game while the West Coast is at work….I get it. Maybe we should do what we do all season long….say the game is in Boston….start at 7. Say the game is in Los Angeles…start it later. I won’t say start at 7 Pacific because that would be insane based upon the above graph….but maybe the LA games start at 8:15 and the Boston games start at 7:15.
This all seems solvable. The NFL has figured out flex scheduling. The NFL puts the GOOD Wild Card came in Prime Time….and that’s more of a 6pm start than 8:30.
Solvable. Glad we’re discussing it at the national level…. finally.
