They are all kerfluffled today because Jeff Wilpon said something about $30M players and now we’re doing Stupid Cheap Wilpons again.
5 minutes before that The Narrative was about how great Wags is and things are new and awesome and Cano and two closers and 7 second basemen and all that but now it’s back to Cheap Wilpons.
How about the MSM look into The Long Con and connect the Agent with the roster. Look into that guys.
As for Machado and Harper, I demand that Manfred do something. If the Braves, Marlins, Phillies, Nationals, Cubs, Reds, Brewers, Pirates, Cardinals, Diamondbacks, Rockies, Dodgers, Padres, Giants, Orioles, Red Sox, Yankees, Rays, Blue Jays, White Sox, Indians, Tigers, Royals, Twins, Astros, Angels, Athletics, Mariners and Rangers won’t sign them, then clearly their ownership is cheap and probably stupid and Manfred need to take their teams away.
Of course that’s not the story. The story is the Mets are cheap. Keep ignoring the Agent thing guys. Always be two beats behind on the real stories, and keep just copying each other’s ideas (hey, maybe someone else could write another version of which Mets could make the Hall of Fame).
