“Jacob has expressed interest in exploring a long-term partnership that would keep him in a Mets uniform for years to come.
“If the Mets don’t share same interest, we believe their best course of action is to seriously consider trade opportunities now. The inertia of current situation could complicate Jacob’s relationship with the club and creates an atmosphere of indecision.” via USA Today.
That’s Agent Brodie Van Wagenen talking about his client Jacob deGrom last summer. That was a few months after accusing the owners of collusion and a few months after threatening a lockout. But you newspaper guys can keep writing sunshine articles, it’s fine, I got this.
Today’s story is that JDG would like an extension. I will be curious to see what the General Manager does.
As I imagine the Mets don’t like ultimatums, JDG will go into his walk year. That makes me wonder if we will start seeing the Player Bashing articles that have a habit of showing up in the Daily News, leaked from regime after regime of “Mets insiders.” I look forward to reading about how Jake is a bad guy because he uses a fork with pizza or puts his socks on before his pants or whatever horrible skeletons they leak.
Every other site is handing in generic stories about who reported early or “Wheeler wants to have a big year.” (NOT LINKING)
10 years ago I wrote about some ideas for traditions for the new Mets stadium. I did pretty well!
Thor still has a beard, still hasn’t been traded to the Yankees.
