I know some of you think I am in the loony bin with my pointing out The Long Con, and you’ll all be looking for a life boat when Jim Riggleman’s Mets are shuffling their way through a lost August, but let’s revisit some of the stated reasons for hiring Jessica Mendoza, interspersed with pictures of Keith Hernandez, who I don’t believe is repped by CAA.
Jessica has a very high baseball IQ
And she knows the game.
Like Al Leiter, like David Wright, like John Franco — she’s a winner.
She played the game at an extremely high level
She sees baseball all day, every day, so she’ll help us evaluate players, she’ll help make recommendations for roster construction.
Oh shoot you got me, Keith gets his info from newspapers and Mike Francesa. Wags may have a point.
Except for that last point, Keith is right there, always been there, and the Mets never seem to pick his brain. Maybe he just doesn’t want to do it. Maybe he just doesn’t have the right agent.
