Mets Police Morning Laziness: Baseball Operations Expert Jessica Mendoza doesn’t speak with Mets Media

So you’re going to hear something about a statue.  Please please please keep in mind that the source is a radio host who is often wrong ,who said one sentence, and that sentence has been amplified by Formerly MetsBlog to be a “report.”   Formerly MetsBlog is also the place where the Mets are trading Syndergaard to the Yankees.  So when you hear “Seaver is getting a statute, they said it….” maybe you might want to wait for an official announcement.

SLACKISH REACTION:  I went to watch the clip of a Cano HR and clicked on it.  MLB.com expects me to sit through a 60 second commercial to see a clip?  Could you put more barriers to entry to people liking your sport?  In the era of twitter and Instagram and House of Highlights you think I am sitting through a :60?  Baseball will kill itself, it does need help.

Anyway I found it on twitter without the ad.  We shall Sterling or Scully this one later…

If you can’t wait, I have a different Gary Apple call for you to analyze.

Speaking of Cano, I am in my 12th season of blogging and THIS might actually be the most tone-deaf thing I have seen from the Mets.  Someone does not get it.

MLB trying out some new rules.

Decent newspaper article in which we learn the Mets are tapping the brakes on McNeil in LF (you’re welcome Wags) and that we might not have Lowrie or Lyin’ Todd Frazier for Opening Day.  Sad.

Interesting conspiracy theory from the Daily News who is mad that Baseball Operations Expert Jessica Mendoza did not speak to the media.

Mendoza has every right to deny an interview with the media. That’s all well and good.

But for the Mets to go out of their way and say it pains Mendoza’s throat to speak louder than a whisper — when in fact she patrolled her way around camp doing the opposite — sounds like a classic act by the paranoid Wilpons to divert attention away from their newest front office addition.

“She’s sick, she’s sick!” Van Wagenen insisted as to why Mendoza wasn’t speaking to reporters.

Very very interesting.  I hope she feels better.
