Report: Wilpons to buy back even more of the Mets

The NY Post reports that the Wilpons want to buy back more of the Mets!

Under the deal, Wilpon’s investment firm Sterling Equities has agreed to pay roughly $180 million to buy back about a 12 percent stake in the Amazin’ s from cable giants Comcast and Charter Communications, owner of the Spectrum network, sources close to the situation said.

And interesting to see the team valued at “only” one and a half billion dollars.  Usually that number is suggested to be around 2 billion.

With Fred spending money on the team, will have money to spend on players for the team?

By the way, how are your boycotts going?  I see you’ve really done damage to the Wilpons by wearing a paper bag over your head.
