The Dark Knight Turns 30: Happy Birthday Matt Harvey!

Matt Harvey was born on March 27, 1989.  Time goes by quickly.  One minute you’re the hotshot pitcher, then suddenly you’re a 30 year old trying to start over in a new city.  Let’s take a look back at the adventures of The Dark Knight.

It all started so innocently.  Banner Day was back and we had an exciting young pitcher.

Then, this cover is probably the worst thing that ever happened to Matt.  He started to believe all the hype.  You may recall he took the Batman thing to heart and had a Batman logo on his locker.

And then ESPN fanned the flames….

Starting the ASG at Citi Field!  Peak Matt Harvey career.

I don’t even know what happened in September 2014, but I have this in the archives.

Sure, let’s make it worse…

Some talk of limiting his innings.  I do bash the guy, but he probably gave his career for that 2015 pennant.

Then, the magic left the arm…

And it was off to Cincy…

Matt learned how to get by on giving up 389 foot outs, with lots of competent if not dominant 5 inning-is starts.

The stats were better than the eyes, but that’s the Angels’ problem now for not doing their homework.

And here we are.  Matty Baseball is 30.  Take it easy with the burritos Matt, that stuff only gets you in trouble, and you don’t want Angels’ Security showing up at your house on Opening Day.

Happy Birthday Matt!
