On Thursday, the Yogi Berra Museum & Learning Center will present the Carmen Berra Award posthumously to Shannon Forde, former Mets senior director of media relations, who, like Carmen, earned the love and respect of friends and colleagues as a steady, positive force for her family, her team and her city…Al Leiter will present the award to Shannon’s family…The Yogi Berra Museum & Learning Center is a nonprofit sports education organization on the campus of Montclair State University…Over three hundred Museum supporters will attend the event at the Plaza Hotel in Manhattan.
Shannon was an awesome person and I think it’s very telling that the extended Mets family continues to regularly talk about her. I was lucky enough to know her, and she was super helpful behind the scenes both for the blog and for helping me acquire “The Green Murph”
