It sure looked like the Mets would do to Jerry what they always do. But holy cow, Clendenon with the clutch 2 outs in the 9th game ending hit allowed the Mets to walk off of the field as winners.
Jerry wasn’t his best, but hey 9 innings is 9 innings even if he gave up three.
Tough CG loss for Fergie Jenkins.
Isn’t baseball great when managers just let the pitchers pitch and don’t mess around with relievers.
