SLACKISH REACTION: I just couldn’t with that game. It had all the hallmarks of a bad Mets broadcast – the Gary/Ron booth where Gary brought his low energy B-game. Gelbs going on and on and on about how Matz warmed up early. That’s a 4 second sentence for people who know baseball but we have Gelbs for some reason and we’re gonna use him. I watched until 9 and decided I just don’t care. Maybe I will book some dates for my comedy tour.
Then today is one of those weekday day games that are just insane. It really makes no sense to play mid-week in the daytime.
Delta 8888 is scheduled to leave Minneapolis at 4:55pm and land in SFO at 6:51pm. 24 hours later some guys in their 20s will be expected to play baseball! Life is hard. Baseball is boring.

ICYMI yesterday was the anniversary of the All Star Game at Citi Field. I almost missed it but late in the day I posted some pics of Harvey, Wright and Seaver. Is that Seaver’s last major appearance in Queens? I think it was.
