SLACKISH REACTION: I know I am supposedly the negative one, but as I told you during the Good Times, I’m actually the consistent one. The newspaper is using words like struggle, and writing basically blog posts about how everyone sucks but Pete Alonso. Look, the math of the pennant race was impossible, they somehow caught up, and now the math kicked back in. You aren’t going to play .800 ball for two months. They mortgaged the future to get Stroman….
…and they are probably going to fall short. You got two extra months of watchable baseball, so might as well enjoy the hell out of this now because when the bill comes due and The Long Con is over, there is going to be one hell of a bill come due.
As you know, Pete broke the record. I am going to point out there are 5-6 weeks left in the season and you can do what you want with that information. Gary did a good call before adding some major major lame cheese.
The telecast was pretty good. The Energy Vampire stayed away untl late in the game, or maybe I just missed him (whew). Gelbs came on late in the game to tell us how groovy Mazza’s socks are and how he orders them on Amazon. Well….Gelbs, GKR, the Mets and Mazza might want to read the CBA.
So if you are one of those people wearing Amazon Socks, or having a Polar Bear illustration on your elbow guard, or maybe you are a SP or Manager who thinks you don’t have to wear a uniform in the dugout….you might want to speak with your union rep.
