Mets Police Morning Laziness: the buzz seems to have left the building

SLACKISH REACTION:  I have bad news for the Mets.  It’s over.  Not just the season…the buzz.

Yesterday was the quietest in-season day I can remember.  There was NOTHING going on.  Nobody was even talking about the team on twitter.  Even in the winter it’s not that dead.

So let’s forget the little run there and actually look at the standings.   The real standings have them 71-68 and 15 back on September 6th.   That’s .511 ball by the way.

In the Wild Card…5 back.

One of the teams in front of them is the Phillies…so it’s a pretty large weekend gang.

But I dunno what’s wrong here – it’s a likable team and all that (read yesterday’s summary) but it seems like the buzz is off.  I see it in the site traffic numbers.  I see it in searching twitter for “Mets”

It may not be over, but it’s over.

NOT LINKING:  An entire newspaper column about Syndergaard riding an electric scooter.  Its a guy you’ve heard of, on an electric scooter.  Imagine it.  Now you’ve read the article.

Is the T-Shirt Guy actually….The Riddler?
