The NYCFCs ….” owned by a joint venture of the Yankees and an investment group led by Sheik Mansour bin Zayed al-Nahayan, a member of the royal family of Abu Dhabi who also owns Manchester City Football Club, a top soccer team in England.” (NY Times)….may play some playoff games at Citi Field.
Citi Field is an awful venue for soccer, but then again so is Fake New Yankee Stadium. It’s a shame there isn’t a World Class Soccer Stadium close to mass transit…say in Harrison New Jersey.
Anyway it’s always good to see the Wilpons, Steinbrenners and the royal family Abu Dhabi all coming together for business reasons. There is peace in our time. No word yet on if we get t-shirts.
