SLACKISH REACTION:   Oh boy is this great!  I wake up, type in Mets and see the headline CARLOS BELTRAN PLAYED KEY ROLE IN ASTROS SIGN STEALING (REPORT)!

Beltran, who on Tuesday told The Post’s Joel Sherman that Houston stole signs legally without the aid of cameras, was said to have played a key role in forging the system alongside current Red Sox manager Alex Cora, sources told The Athletic.

Beltran was the team’s designated hitter during the Astros’ championship season, while Cora was a bench coach alongside current manager AJ Hinch. The three will almost certainly be interviewed by MLB’s Department of Investigations (DOI), according to the website. (via NY Post)

As someone with a blog, and someone who loves chaos, and as someone who thinks hiring Inexperienced Carlos Beltran was a mistake, I am personally rooting for this to become a BFD as Pete Alonso might say!

NOT LINKING:  Wow, I saw a headline about “how will the Mets upgrade CF” and I assumed it was from the AAIMBR but it is from the rotting corpse of the once great Daily News.  I thought they fired everyone and were using robots to generate copy?  Maybe that’s where this article came from?  Maybe that’s what the AAIMBR is and I’m mistaken believing that they have 75 writers (plus Fan Shots) and they just have an AI doing word salad.  THAT would explain a lot.

I do see the Post write something about the Mets not wasting JDG’s career….now THAT is some crappy blogger level content.  You know why I say that?  Because that’s a point that I made on twitter…and I am a crappy blogger.  But yeah, wait until the Mets find out they had the best pitcher of the 21st Century and won nothing with him.  Well they did win that one pennant.  That’s a lot better than the Yankees of the 2010s.  Which reminds me….when will Manfred do something?  Now that Deadspin is Diedspin (rimshot) who is going to demand Manfred do something?????
