Down in Port St. Lucie at New Name Every Year Stadium, the Mets have installed some artwork. In this one, they have chosen to spotlight Jose Reyes who once was suspended for violating MLB’s Domestic Violence Policy, but hey the guy has a great smile so let’s not worry about that kind of stuff and hold him up as a role model for fine young players like Vulgar Pete Alonso.
There is also a big chunk of wall dedicated specifically to David Wright and Jose Reyes. pic.twitter.com/9tZmEgfxSH

They also chose to do these weird time traveling crossovers which look like they orked about as well as having Captain Kirk meet J.L. Picard.
Some of the decoration on the new concourse at Clover Park blends Mets eras in a cool, kinda trippy way. pic.twitter.com/3pWWadMBEf

So while not the best choices I have ever seen, at least it’s an attempt to celebrate the team’s history, something the Mets forgot to do when Citi Field opened in 2009, so I guess it’s slightly more good than bad. Unless you dislike domestic violence…but the Mets, the Mets they don’t seem to care.
