SLACKISH REACTION: There seems to be no news on Noah Syndergaard’s surgery which was scheduled for yesterday. That is odd.
Maybe the Mets decided it would be a bad look to publicize it? Let me once again quote from yesterday’s excellent Post article that everyone ignored because you saw a video of GKR and can’t multitask.
A New York-based orthopedist who asked not to be identified was skeptical that Syndergaard is facing necessary surgery and indicated the medical resources should be preserved.
“The reason they have [elective surgery] on hold is the masks, but the big picture is what if they need more ventilators in Manhattan?” the orthopedist said. “They are going to have to pull them from the ambulatory centers and they haven’t talked about that, but that is the end play. So the question becomes if they are doing elective surgery in Florida, are they not utilizing resources that should have been directed elsewhere?”
I am not a specialist in this area and also terrible at reading but to my small brain the article seems to suggest the surgery could have waited. Of course the more you wait then the more of 2021 you miss…and there’s that whole Free Agency thing coming….so you can see how some people might be motivated to get this done, even if it diverts a few masks from people serving on the front lines of the CV War.
So I hope Mr. Syndergaard is OK, but if this could have waited…then this should have waited.
So SNY could have done something cool but they did not.
They had GKR do some sort of pre-game for the Nopening Day contest and then streamed MLB The Show.
What they did not do is have GKR do the MLB The Show game.
They could have gotten a few USB Headsets, some PS4s, and somehow taught Keith how to jump on the game – and had the guys live stream the game. That could have been epic with Gary calling the game, Ron doing his thing and Keith being all old man.
It wouldn’t have been a rights thing as you and I can jump on Twitch right now and talk over a game – so it must have been a lack of funds or lack of imagination. But to that end, then don’t do the pre-game thing. Go all in or don’t bother, and at this time of crisis not bothering would have been perfectly fine.
Anyway, we are now over the imaginary line of Opening Day so now what for your filler? I continue to not miss sports at all. I have been busier than usual with my gig at Universal Exports and have plenty to do, and as I always say there are 12 Star Wars movies and 79 episodes of Star Trek TOS sitting on a shelf for me to watch….I won’t get bored.
Speaking of Star Trek, we really really need to talk about that Picard finale. I will give you the day to catch up but you will be spoiled on this very website tomorrow.
