After a few days off we are back with our list of inductees into the Hall of Immortals.
The 9th player to be inducted may not have had the greatest talent the game has ever seen, but nobody can doubt he played with more heart and grit than almost anyone in baseball history. And he did it at multiple positions throughout his career, becoming an All-Star at more positions than anyone.
He accumulated the most hits in history and did so while playing in more games (3,562) than anyone, all the while maintaining a batting average greater than .300.
Was he a nice guy? Not by any stretch. Did he bet on baseball? Yes. Should he be inducted into Cooperstown? In my opinion no. But the Hall of Immortals is about accomplishments on the field regardless of anything else. So with that in mind, our 9th inductee is Charlie Hustle, Pete Rose.
For some background on what this is, check out the introduction post here.
