Back-to-back Cardinals this week as the Hall of Immortals welcomes Stan “The Man” Musial.
One of my favorite baseball odd stats is that Musial had the same number of hits on the road as he did at home – 1,815. That is a consistent player.
Over a 22 year career he had over 3,600 hits and a lifetime bating average of .331 PLUS hit 475 home runs (when that meant something). Along the way he won 3 MVPs and finished in the top 10 in voting another 10 times. All while doing this in St. Louis. Can you imagine the coverage he would have received in New York?
It’s clear, Stan Musial is an Immortal.
