For the All 2010’s selection at shortstop, it’s a tough one. You have The Virus, Omar Quintanilla (95 games in 2013 to lead the team in games played at SS!), Tejada, Cabrera, Wilmer and Rosario.
I’m going to hold my nose and give it to The Virus as he did win a batting title. Sure he couldn’t be bothered to wait an inning for the fans to get in the ballpark, and he was starting at his digital watch to sign with Miami so he could get the heck out of Queens, and there was that off-the-field stuff, but given the slim pickings…I have to give it to him.
Despite skipping a few years he still had the third most runs scored for the decade and the 4th most hits.
He also pitched once and helped birth a successful t-shirt company.
Psssst….trade Reyes and get something back for him.
