Mets owner Steve Cohen, seen here wearing a mask….
Still shocked the owner of the mets and his wife personally handed me my bobble heads in mid December during a pandemic. pic.twitter.com/o0YjAYCEt0

…but worryingly seen here not wearing a mask….
…had a big day!
He Showed Up At Citi to greet fans, choosing to go the Billionaire Man Of The People route which is a cool move and continues to make him the most popular Met (which is weird).
He also reportedly opened the wallet. While the Mets are waiting until I am busy doing Actual Work to announce these things (hey maybe they will even sent me a press release now that old pal David Newman is back) – they reportedly have…
A new GM. His name is Jared Porter. He worked for Boston. I know nothing about him and neither do the other blogs who are pretending they do. Welcome Jared Porter! May your name go in the Frank Cashen column and not the M. Donald Grant/CAA Sleeper Agent column.
A new catcher. His name is McCann but he’s not the McCann you had heard of before two weeks ago. Apparently this McCann Catcher is named James McCann and he gets a four year deal. Now that we don’t care about money let’s not worry about having a 35 year old catcher in 2025, let’s just welcome James McCann. Welcome James McCann!
So except for the mask faux pas, for Steve “Baron” Cohen, a very nice day. 09
