My friends the Queens Baseball Convention sent me a press release, so I shall happily share it with you.
So I think this is cool for several reasons. First, I don’t have to move any boxes. Second, I don’t have to leave my house. So right there this is great. But jokes aside, even though the pandemic sucks, it has taught some in the entertainment industry to adapt – so if we can’t all be together in person, at least we can be together on-line. I believe there will be a running chat window etc, and there will be a virtual tip-jar if you want to throw in a few bucks since this does take time and effort and has costs attached. I watch some Youtubers who complain about Star Trek and I see people tipping them left and right, so it’s not crazy to throw $3 in the virtual bin.
Anyway the short version is: Feb 6th on Youtube.
2021 QUEENS BASEBALL CONVENTION GOES VIRTUAL WITH SUPER JOE McEWING
Organizers of the Queens Baseball Convention announced that they will be hosting a fully virtual experience to take place on Saturday, February 6th.
Keith Blacknick and Dan Twohig, co-founders and partners in the 8-year old fan-fest, also announced that the event would be broadcast for free on the QBC YouTube channel, citing the pandemic and wanting to give back to the fanbase that has supported the event since 2014.
Former Met Joe McEwing will headline the event, participating in a live panel discussion and will be taking questions from fans.
Also announced was that in partnership with SNY, the TV home of the New York Mets, Doug Williams, Andy Martino, Sal Licata, and Jim Duquette will host a live version of Baseball Night in New York. This will be the third consecutive QBC that SNY has hosted a live panel.

While the organizers didn’t provide any FAQs, Have written my own.
DO I HAVE TO MOVE ANY BOXES?
No.
DO I HAVE TO LEAVE MY HOUSE?
No.
I CAN PLAY VIDEO GAMES DURING MARK HEALEY’S STATE OF THE METS PANEL RIGHT?
Yes. Just fire up the QBC Youtube Channel on your laptop or something while you play FIFA.
WHY ISN’T SHANNON DOING A PANEL?
I was asked. I actually have a lot going on right now and couldn’t commit to it.
THE BLACK JERSEY DISCUSSION SHOULD BE LIKE ONE SECOND LONG, RIGHT?
Correct. This sentence is longer than that panel should be. The entire panel should be the word no.
WILL TREVOR BAUER BE THERE?
Thankfully, Trevor Bauer is not on the Mets, so at this time there doesn’t appear to be any reason to have him there.
YOU ARE SURE I DON’T HAVE TO MOVE ANY BOXES RIGHT? I DON’T WANT TO MOVE BOXES.
No boxes to be moved.
YOU SURE? BECAUSE LAST TIME I HAD TO MOVE BOXES ALL MORNING.
No boxes. It’s virtual.
