It was as hot as a supermodel dating the All Star Game starter, which generated some thunderstorms…but after a 71 minute delay, the Dark Knight Returned. The Orioles announcers called him The Best Pitcher In Baseball, so let’s check the numbers!
Matt gives up a single to the leadoff hitter, which in olden times would lead to a meltdown but not tonight. The first out is one of those 385 foot flyouts but this one stays in.
Then 94 year old Miguel Cabrera singles…he’s still playing?….but MASN is being annoying and won’t show a close up.
The next guy hits another 385 foot out….but Matt man, one of these is gonna go out.
Then a walk to load the bases and MASN hooks up the shot.
But TDK gets the 4-3 and we have our first “Matt Harvey walks back to the dugout” shot of the night.
On to the second, a fly out and then…sit down son!
And the next guy? You can sit down too! Back to back strikeouts and let’s watch Matt walk back to the dugout.
On to the third where Matt struck out the leadoff hitter but my family was talking to me and I can’t be like “Guys, I am blogging about Matt Harvey” so I missed it. The next guy singled. Then Miguel Cabrera still hasn’t returned and he singles too!

…we all can feel it, right?
WRONG! Matt gets a 3-2 force at the plate and then SIT DOWN SON!
Matt escapes his second bases loaded jam of the night! While all this was happening the Mets got rained out so this sucks – if stupid Matt Harvey were not pitching I could go watch a movie, but now I have to sit here watching baseball which is of course boring, plus this game started an hour late. Go Tigers, knock Matt out!
On to the 4th for a 1-2-3-4 but I was posting about the Mets and raincheck so I couldn’t tell ya much about it. I want this Orioles game over so I can go do something else.
On to the 5th….sit down son!

Matt is at 80+ pitches and hopefully Brandon Hyde will let me go to sleep.
5 innings, 8 hits, 3 runs, 3 walks, 5 Ks and ERA still over 6.
That’s it for The Dark Knight. Someone named Dusten Knight takes over for the 6th which is kinda funny, but I am tired.
