The Mets have placed Max Scherzer on the 10 day IL.
Look, the worst that happens is – the Mets have a 10.5 game lead over the 3rd wild card with 30 to play. Maybe they get bounced in the Wild Card round. Then they can place a 2022 Wild Card banner next to the stupid 2016 Wild Card Participant one they have up.

LHP Alex Claudio has been selected from Triple-A Syracuse…He will wear #58.
RHP Yoan López has been recalled from Triple-A Syracuse and will serve as the team’s 29th man for both games of the doubleheader.
RHP Adonis Medina has been designated for assignment.
