The Mets should shut Senga down until August 10th. Why? INNINGS LOAD.
Take a look at the IP column here..

Here at Mets Police, there’s one goal – win the World Series while nicely dressed. Now Steve & Alex have fubar’d the nicely dressed part so we won’t be hanging any Mission Accomplished banners this year – but it still would be nice to see another World Series parade after 4 full decades.
Look at the IPs.
5.1. Its a lot to go from 5 to 200, assuming you want Senga pitching into late October.
OK you wanna throw the 5 out? Lets look at the year before – 166.
He’s already at 74 and its June 13th.
Lazy math of 16 more six inning starts would match the 29 starts from 2023 and bring us to 170 innings, an MLB career high. He did throw 180 in Japan at the 26.
So I say give the man the summer off. I think he said something about a sore toe or a blister. Throw him on the IL and let him come back in August with an arm that can win the games that actually matter – the October ones.
The Mets are TWENTY ONE games over .500 which is a LOT. Lazy math again – if they play .500 the rest of the way 91-71 is 20 games over .500 They have a 5.5 game lead and they have 7 more wins than the 3rd Wild card. At 21 games over .500 if would be nearly impossible NOT to make the playoffs.
Enjoy your summer off Kodai.
