Maybe now the Mets Fans Hate Speech can stop

During the Mets losing streak, there were some very ugly posts on social media from Mets fans and national broadcasters related to a rainbow flag being shown on the Jumbotron on Pride Night.

The gist of the posts was that the flag had caused the losing streak…and then insert hate speech here about how the Mets getting what they deserved.

I was very disappointed to see this in many tweets and many Facebook posts.

I also was disappointed in the Mets who have a rainbow icon on the social media posts, but nobody in the organization – not Steve, not Alex, not Francisco, not Pete, not Juan, not Brandon – as far as I can tell nobody addressed it.

Did Gary address it (I haven’t watched an SNY game in some time) the way he did when Daniel Murphy made some homophobic comments?

Pretty ugly, and very under-reported.

Sometimes two people love each other, and sometimes Steve, Alex and David forget to sign enough organizational innings to cover a seven month stretch.  That’s all.  It’s a rainbow.  It’s a losing streak because of a flawed roster.   Stop spreading hate.
