Look, I am not trying to clickbait anyone, I don’t know what to title these. Real life Matt Harvey is not on the Ducks. As I mentioned in my review of MLB The Show, I have created a franchise (the former Oakland A’s) and signed free agents Tom Seaver and Matt Harvey. Since there’s no actual baseball, these posts will be my attempts at entertaining you folks.
I found Matt on the Free Agent list, and much like real life, he was very feisty about the contract. I had to give him multiple years to sign, but the odds of me ever getting to multiple seasons are unlikely, so much like Wags, I am not worried about the future ramifications of my stupid deals.
My Ducks won the Opener, and it was time for Game 2 of the 2020 Season.
As you can see the caps came out really well. I couldn’t figure out how to properly size the logo on the jersey, and I just wanted to play, so we have some plain jerseys for now. Whatever.
And there he is, strolling to the mound!
I gotta tell you, I don’t know if it was my mind playing tricks, but everything about this guy’s mannerisms felt like Matt Harvey.
I started playing the game and he was giving up the occasional hit, but striking out a lot of people. He was more like the TDK of your dreams than the 2019 version.
And then I, I mean Matt, gave up a lead up homer to start the 4th.
And that’s when this game showed juston realistic it is.
The video game Dark Knight had a complete meltdown in the 4th. Just like real life’s 2019 Matt Harvey!
Look at that stat-line… 3 and 2/3 7Ks but ELEVEN hits and 5 wins……just like what you would have seen last year with the Angels/Bees/Aviators. I still can’t believe this guy made $11M last year. I also can’t believe he made $11M last year and now haggled his way out of a deal with Toronto. SAVE YOUR CAREER Matt.
Anyway, my Ducks are now 1-1. I will likely sim the next three games and then player lock on Seaver (my ace) and Harvey, and since i’m bored and none of us have anything else to do, I will bore you with Video Game Matt Harvey Recaps until I also get bored.
