I am sorry to hear singer Kenny Rogers passed away. I am also sorry to hear other blogs think they are clever because once the Mets had a player with that name.
THOUGHT EXPERIMENT: What if instead of playing a very truncated season – MLB still thinks they are playing in London in June btw – what if instead of very truncated season, baseball comes back with some sort of Better Done World Baseball Classic. I haven’t done the legwork, but it should be relatively easy (once the world is normal) to put together a tournament of say USA, Canada, Mexico, Cuba, South Korea, Japan, Puerto Rico, and the Dominican Republic.
That might be a far more interesting way to bring the sport back in a MAJOR Way moreso than a short season will do after Opening Day. I’m thinking bigger here – that kind of tournament without all the other distractions might really do well. (Plus, Marcus Stroman can watch it on TV.)
But who knows what the future brings for any of us. Just a thought from someone holding bagels and K-Cups….
SLACKISH REACTION: I just made a supply run in anticipation of today’s announcement by Governor Murphy being that NJ is switching to shelter in place like New York. So I did a very rare Saturday Bagels (they are good and hot! and there were no bagel noobs out) AND visited the Donuts Chain to stock up on Donuts Chain K-Cups because I cannot survive The Big Quiet without coffee. I even did a panic Amazon search for K-cups last night but they were on back order on Amazon.
Can Amazon still deliver in a shut down state?
Todd Frazier did not IG any food. He posted a very nice picture of himself with his son, but I leave families out of my clowning around. It’s a nice photo.
And that’s kind of it gang. There’s no Mets news/MLB news/Sports News/Pop Culture News. And soon no iced coffee!
