Pete Smith pitched 5 innings of 6 run ball. As a good example of how the game has changed for the worst, look at the rest of the boxscore. Mauro Gozzo pitched three innings of mop-up in a game that ended 6-5. In 2019 that would have been like 4 pitchers. The Marlins used only three pitchers….again a tight game…this would have been 7 pitchers in 2019.
