How did the NFL outdraw a baseball playoff game by 7x if the West Coast can’t watch sports at 7pm ET?

This is so weird…

Game 1 of the Astros-A’s series, which started at 1 PM ET, drew 1.422 million viewers. The second game of the doubleheader was Game 1 of the Yankees-Rays series, which drew 2.33 million viewers in primetime.

..

14.60 million people watched Chiefs-Patriots on CBS

I just do not understand how this is possible.   MLB plays games at 8-something because the West Coast can’t possibly tune in later, and MLB has decided they would rather the East Coast fall asleep than the West Coast miss the first inning.    Here’s a map of where everyone lives by the way…

And yet that crazy NFL that plays it’s very unsuccessful championship game at a ridiculous 3:30pm Pacific Time, somehow did seven times the viewers – with a regular season game – than baseball did with the vaunted Yankees.

HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE IF PEOPLE IN LOS ANGELES CAN’T WATCH SPORTS UNTIL 8PM EASTERN?

I just do not understand this.

Baseball is also playing games at 2pm ET on a Tuesday.   Whatever, I wasn’t going to watch any of it anyway.
