Ron Washington. Will this guy manage the Mets? No.

Welcome back to a new season of “Will this guy manage the Mets? No.”

In previous seasons I have covered topics such as “Mike Piazza. Will this guy manage the Mets? No.” and “David Wright?  Will this guy manage the Mets? No.”

I’ve covered Wally Backman and Lee Mazzilli and The Usual Suspects in previous posts and you can find all those here.

The goal here is to make fun of all the names that will be floated by other websites and to mock the whole process of random speculation.

Today it is 69 year old Ron Washington.

Ron has an impressive .521 winning percentage and has won two pennants.

Wikipedia says

On September 5, 2014, Washington announced his resignation as manager of the Rangers, citing personal reasons.[14] On September 11, 2014, it was announced by several media outlets that Ron Washington’s resignation may be related to allegations of sexual assault against a reporter

So maybe it’s true, maybe it’s not, but given some of the Mets’ recent front office shenanigans, and the whole Mickey Callway shadow – will Ron Washington manage the Mets?  No.
