I understand they are playing the Nationals, but I like what I’m seeing from this team so far
It feels like a team of professional baseball players managed by a professional manager – as opposed to the usual out-of-the-box new culture nonsense that usually got paired with “and if everyone has a career year…”
I’m particularly excited about the aggressive base running. Yes some guys have been thrown out but that’s ok. Make the other teams make plays. Send everyone all day every day on every play. If the other teams can throw the Mets out then good.
In other news, baseball really is boring. Opening Day is opening day and Friday night we had the rage against Apple to bind us – but last night was pretty quiet on Twitter and the game was a lot of nothing punctuated by a Pete Alonso slam.
I probably won’t be able to really watch a game until a week from Tuesday as I’m just a few weeknights and next weekend is day games but that’s all fine.
